So I was at the range the other day and had been wanting to pick up another 45 acp. I'm a 1911 guy....love the platform and always will. Easy to maintain and just works.

Never really thought about a Glock. I rented a 21 Gen 4 and went back out and bought one NIB. It's no 1911 and all and I still think its ugly but I do like it a lot. Picked up a nice Blackhawk holster for it too. Came with three mags and I put the beavertail back strap on it.

I'll leave the CC to my 1911s but for running around outside in the woods, rain, dirt and mud, this Glock should do just fine.

I was also a 1911 guy until I bought my first Glock 5 years ago. Now I own six, so be careful. The Colt is certainly a fine combat pistol, but difficult for a 1905 design to compete with modern technology, and the polymer (lighter) frame. Perhaps that is why I like Becker knives - reminds me of all of the positive aspects of the Glock. Cheers.

GLOCK:thumbup:, mine is a 17/G4. My wife put her S&W down and wants the GLOCK. Guess I need another!!!

Welcome to the family sir. I carry a G22 as my primary carry gun, and wouldn't trust my life to anything but a glock.

I'm a fan of green and black too. Only difference is that I'm a Sig guy. This is my 9/81 dated former German Police P6. Had it refinished with a green frame with slide and controls black and Hogue old style OD / Black G10 grips.

Goes well with my green and black Tank Buster.

Now buy some glock 20 mags and a storm lake 10mm barrel conversion and you have a 2 in one gun. It really improves with a lone wolf 45 barrel as well, you can shoot lead rounds if you roll your own.

I have knives from a variety of manufacturers and I like them all. I like 1911's too, but the Glock is certainly worthy. SIG P220, HK USP and SW M&P are certainly worthy as well, and I've heard good things about the Springfield XD.

I love 1911s but being left handed I carry a G23 3rd gen.

Life is filled with too many choices to be tied to 1 type of pistol. Enjoy your Glocks, enjoy your 1911s.......just enjoy shooting.

Glad you got something you like even if it is ugly. One thing I will never bash a Glock for is reliability. Great rough use gun if it fits your hand.

:thumbup:My EDC is a Gen4 G32. Throw it in the dirt, treat it like a lawnmower, you don't have to worry about scratching up your perty finish:D
