Never seen/handled an Italian made Falcon stiletto lockback... anyone?

I've had this 9inch antler handled one for many years.
Its great ,stylish, well made and wasn't expensive.

A long time ago I thought it would be a good idea to sharpen up the false edge.
It wasn't. When its closed there is a protruding sharp edge.We live and learn.

I like it, never had a good one myself but could see myself picking one up if the price was right. I think I would rather have one that you used the quillion to disengage the lock, it is more stereotypical stiletto in my mind.

I have an old well made one from the early 70's....no maker stamp but it's sturdy with a nice carbon steel blade. I'll shoot some pics tomorrow if anyone wants to see it.

Thanks, guys!
Meako.... I am glad you like yours, especially since I believe the one I placed an order for today is the same one you got. Stag handled and measuring about 5 inches closed. I was not sure whether I was going to order it, and decided to ask here about it first. But, my impatience got the best of me, so I placed the order. Now, reading and seeing your post, has got me thinking that I'm glad I went with my gut :-) Thanks again... will post pics when I get it and share my thoughts :-)

Apologies-9inch open-sounds like the same one. And the "protruding sharp edge" is no fault of manufacture it is down to me.I hadn't of done it it would be no problem -it doesn';t actually protrude is what I'm saying.
Its a coool knife.

It only took me 4 months to get around to it..... :)

My early 70's Italian Stiletto in carbon. My late uncle's Skull and Crossbones ring dates from the 50's.

Not sure how I missed this thread...

I love stilettos!!! :D

The Falcon stilettos are the best ones you'll find today. They are excellent, especially for the price. Now, make no mistake, you are not getting a GEC-quality knife, so lower your expectations before you buy. There is no room for "Hey, my blade is slightly to the left when I close the knife!" or "There is a millimeter of wiggle in the lockup, unacceptable!" or "There's a gap in the spine! Send it back!"
They are not robust hard-use knives... but, they are more than adequate for most people's EDC needs. These are inexpensive knives, but they have a charm all their own.

I have quite a few of these Italian stilettos, some old and some new. The Falcons are made just as well as (if not better than) many of the oldies.

This one is my favorite, out of my accumulation. It's an older one, from the late 60s most likely.

I have a few Falcons as well - a 9" stag, an 11" horn, and both small and large "Sicilian fish" stilettos. They are all great knives for under $40.

I've got more stilettos I can take pictures of, if anyone's interested.

Jimmy, if you come back and check this thread, I recommend you pick one up. I know that you mostly like to display your knives in cases, so these will suit you very well, and will not set you back much coin.
