oh yes, i do want to thank all the nice people on here. it has made my collecting experience so much nicer with you willing to share so much fun and thorough knowledge.

I can't tell you when it was made, but I've been looking for one of those with the sheepsfoot blade for a while now. If you are going to bid on it, I'll let it alone since you found it first.

Also, FYI, I don't know all the rules, but I know the mods get a bit itchy if you start posting links to live ebay auctions here. They haven't said anything yet, and it may be because you aren't "auction-spotting", but just to let you know.

Dave's right. The usual forum rule is "Don't link to live auctions" -- especially if we might think you're shilling: publicizing the sale to help the seller out.

Collector forums get a little leeway but if we get complaints from the regulars here, w'll have to tighten up on compliance.

Just looking for information to verify a piece to bid on is tricky, since "... I've been looking for one of those with the sheepsfoot blade for a while now. If you are going to bid on it, I'll let it alone since you found it first." You could be tipping off people who will outbid you or at least drive your cost up.

sorry if i have done a misdeed. not intentional. i know on the alert others thing, but if one has the general lack of knowledge like i do, where does one go to get information other than here?

Del., "Bear Hunter" marked knives are made in Pakistan. looks like someone added the "LB 4" after production.
The Barlow you link to may be Boker USA, but can't be sure from the 1 pic. provided.
both "Bear Hunter" and Boker Barlows are relatively common on ebay so you can wait for low price.
