... you might get burned or hit!

I was working with my onebrick forge and block O' steel anvil, so a I was kneeling with hot steel and hammer in hand. I also had earplugs and dark tinted gogles on. My landlord, who had been watching me earlier called my name, startling me, and faster than thought, I was turned around, standing, holding the hammer for a strike and ready to poke with the tapered hot of steel! Fortunately he was standing back, and I identified that it was only him. I warned him not to do that again of course!

I suspect he's not paranoid... if he were paranoid, he wouldn't be forging with his back to the door ! :D I think he was just peeved that he got disturbed while forging ! Jason.

Same thing applies to a person grinding a blade too. I grind in my garage, with the big front door open. Since I am intently concentrating on grinding, I don't see or hear people walking up to me. I almost ground half my hand off one time, when a neighbor started yelling my name.
