It's been echoed a lot in the past and present about the continuous kind gestures here in our little corner of the net. No politics, religion, no feuding just good people doing good things. I feel the country as a whole could benefit from a visit to this wondrous place;)

Many of us have gifted and been the recipients of gifts on this forum and are in awe of the kindness of our fellow members. Today was no exception. I received an email from Stich2442 (Peter) on Saturday simply mentioning for me to keep on eye on my mail. He enclosed a tracking number and it said a package should arrive on Saturday---the mail came and went without the package showing up.

I emailed Pete back and said not today so more than likely Monday---I was like a kid that ordered a decoder ring from the back of a comic book like back in my youth---eagerly waiting for the postman to come down the street.

Well, this is what awaited me:D A custom sheath made by Alan Dodge compliments of Pete:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Outstanding gesture on Pete's part---I am humbled to receive such a fine gift. This truly is soooo perfect. I carry backpocket as well as RFP. I can carry my 1970 CASE red bone full size Trapper without having the fear of cracking the beautiful covers. The full size Trapper to me is to large for front pocket carry and this is the ultimate answer. The sheath is top notch in every detail and the gift from Pete is one I will never forget!!!

Thank you Pete, you and so many other great folks are such an asset to this forum:thumbup:

I'm glad you like it Paul, you are a kind and generous person. I will say Alan Dodge is a pleasure to do business with, and another great member of this forum, his work is top notch.

The knife looks great with the sheath! Thanks for the pics, pure luck Alan helped me with the size.

Looks grand. I don't know too terribly much about leather, but it looks like quality to my eye. Very cool. I'm seeing a lot of belt sheaths toting around trappers on the local level. I'm a younger guy, but feel like they are making a comeback among traditional knife enthusiast.

Looks like your trapper fits in its new home perfectly. This is such a great place to be :)

Very nice sheath, and the fact that you wished for one (and will use it) makes it even better.
Thanks to Pete for his generosity, and to you for your contribution to this forum :)

Paul,

Glad you like the sheath and that the knife fits, looks great in the photo, enjoy!
I appreciate the kind words too, but the kudos here goes to Peter for his kind act.
Hats off to you Peter -:thumbup:

Thats a beautiful sheath and a wonderful gesture. the people on this forum are truly one of a kind and aside from blood family, this is as close as it gets.

A great gesture by a great guy. Well done Pete

Beautiful-looking sheath Al

Good going, Pete.

Congratulations, Paul, and thanks for the nice pictures-- and everything else you bring to this forum.

It's a little big for my tastes, but it sure is pretty. And that leather lining looks soft and cushy... I think it'll be a damned good protective case.

It would be a shame to damage such a fine, old pocketknife like that one.:)

Nice job Peter. Paul you deserve it buddy, You're a great guy. Congrats to you both...
