Never too soon...

With all the wonderful designs coming out this year from both Kershaw and ZT (Ok, I could have just said KAI), I don't think it's ever too soon to start throwing ideas around for 2014 ;)

However, as opposed to asking for "A smaller version" or "larger version" of a particular knife, I'm going to float out ideas that fork off an existing great product. In the comments below, amend my idea, have your own, or mention whatever trips your trigger.

Now with the idea:
The knife I'm going to use as my base will be the 1870 Knockout (Arguably my most carried Kershaw... and for good reason). I think it would be interesting to see a non-assisted flipper only (no stud) version of this knife that utilizes a ball bearing system. Literally leave everything intact: Aluminum scales, sub-frame lock, etc... Then offer a range of colors (Red, Olive, Desert Tan, Black, etc...). Any thoughts?

I like everything you said except I would keep the thumbstuds and make them slanted like the Blurs. Than maybe round off the top of them because some people don't like them. I really LOVE the idea of more colors. I would be down for a lighter blue colored Knockout...kind of like the BFC Edition Skyline.

Damascus Blur, Composite Skyline, Composite ZT0550, Composite/CF ZT0350, and a Composite ZT0300 with Orange Scales..

I'd like to see another G&G hawk design

Oh, the slight changes that could be done to the RAM. Mmmm... S30v, get rid of those thumb studs, deep carry, stonewashed, ramp on the button. DONE!

*slow chant* bring it back! Bring it back!

doubt it....it was disco'd for a reason, whatever that may be

guessing low sales, no other reason they would retire such an amazing knife
