Never underestimate the value of a good teacher. Recently was taken under the wing of the leather crafter who formerly made my sheaths for me. The first couple are pice of the first sheath I ever attempted.
Looked like crap and I didn't try again for a full year.
Just a bit of difference.

What a difference a difference makes. If that's you in the new and improved versions, you got it.

Hey Robert, didn't you used to have your smiling face on your avitar before?? I think you're the Bowie maker I've been wondering what happened to. Am I way off base?? The guy I'm thinking of used to post some scary looking long knives.

I don't know. I checked what you said but it don't click. This guy made stuff only a theopist could understand. I don't mean poor craftsmanship by any means, in fact quite the opposite. I just mean imaginative; REALLY. He had, as I remember, blondish or light colored hair and a real freindly face and big smile in his avitar and I miss him around here. His handle, as I recall, was Robert (last name) and Hankins is pretty close to my recollection.

Good looking sheaths, those later ones! Good pictures, also. Another thing I compliment you on, you had to have a very frustrating time trying to make those sheaths when first starting, but you stuck with it until you had it just right. EDITED TO ADD, At least the first ones are STURDY, and the sewing machine didn't sew your fingers to the leather!

Awesome sheath! (the second one ;) )

Your other one looks like my current line of leather sheaths! (if you're reading this and am a potential customer, please disregard that last statement. :D )

some of the stuff you used to do was plain scary!!!

Actually YES this is the second sheath I have ever made...it helps to have a part time job at Tandy leather:D
My mentor has over 30yrs leather crafting experience and is a master of the craft.

My old screen Name was Robert hankins...someday it will get changed back.
