The lock was sticking to the point of being almost dangerous to disengage. Also,
the detent was stiff. I used a pencil, alcohol and everything else listed here for a sticky lock.

Ended up removing the Hinderer lock stop, bent the lock bar ever so slightly
outwards and good to go! The lock passes a brutal spine wack on my palm, and is
much smoother. The only minus is the detent is a touch to light now, but I can live with
that.

Based on this one example, maybe Kershaw is putting a little to much tension in
the locks....

Glad to hear you got it fixed. I've actually had the opposite problem with both of mine, the detent was too weak.

Do sharpie instead of pencil...Do a coat let it dry then do another coat and the sticky lock will be gone...it also gets better with time

Or maybe someone didnt let it break in with repeated use? Especially considering your new found detent issue?

Do you always have a condescending tone in your replies? If you go back and read my post, I did say I can
live with it, so no issue exists.

The lock was ridiculously stiff out of the box and would have resulted in premature wear fairly quickly.
I did open and close it hundreds of times, it didn't get any better.
I just finished quality control that ZT should have.

Speaking of QC, I do have a ZT0550 bought recently that has uneven grinds, that might be a little harder
to fix. That is another issue and I might end up sending it back.

This:thumbup: My 0561 was extremely sticky when I got it. After putting on sharpie about 3-4 times, there was no stick whatsoever.

No not always. Only when people show up beating the horse thats been dead for over a year. Unfortunately, this happens more times than not.

Sorry, I didn't see in your profile that you are a moderator. I'll make sure I search all future threads to
make sure I don't offend you next time. :D

Obviously, the replies here don't feel the same way you do...

That to me sounds like you considered it an issue. What else would one consider a "minus"? You must have felt it was a desired side effect, heaven forbid your impatience for wearing in the travel would lead you to create an issue. Also, I too base a general observation on ZT's production from one sample. :what:

Your responses Sir, are much more rude than the ones about which you're complaining, and it's equally rude to presume that your own issues warrant pandering.

I found a way to fix the sticky lock because the techniques described here did not work for me. I am satisfied with the results. If someone wants to try it with their 0560/0561, it seems to be a valid alternative. I think it does warrant pondering (not pandering, look it up) as stated above. This forum is a way to exchange ideas. If you think it's a bad idea, don't use it. :)

There is no reason to be kicking up dust here folks. Let's keep the conversation civil.
