So i got the Heritage and Pro 102’s and love everything about them. The packaging the steel D2 and S35VN respectively. The handles are great too. One only slight reservation is the Green Burlap Micarta handle on the Pro. I’m used to micarta with a dull more textured finish. Bucks finish has a high gloss zero texture finish. Just my opinion. Interested in all your opinions?

Not suggesting to do this until others chime in, but I wonder if you could tape off the hardware and lightly rub over the Micarta with 0000 steel wool to knock down the high gloss.

My experience with micarta says it will get rougher with use. Especially if it gets wet.

All very interesting. I tend to leave things in original condition. I suppose if i had another one and evidence proved ruffing with steel wool would result in what i like i would consider it.

I only handled it long enough to take a picture so with some use time will tell.

Burlap is a coarse material so as the fibers at the surface break free the surface will be rough. Where as linen is very finely woven material it doesn’t act the same and stays smoother.

That has been my observation anyway.

It’s a beautiful little knife David, enjoy it.
