Hi Mr. Houser,

Read somewhere on the forums that Buck is having some ideas on modifying the 110. Could u drop us some hints here as a teaser? Please? Ok at least for the possible launch date? :D

Best,

Ben

To modernize this old thunder-lizard would destroy it. It is what it is. I carry one of mine often, and I appreciate its solidity, but it is a real boat-anchor compared to its svelte competitors from Spyderco and Benchmade. Personally, I'd like to see a return of the 560, the titanium-handled version of the 110. The addition of a clip and a thumb-stud to this one would seem appropriate. But modernization of the 110 would be like putting fuel injectors and air-bags in a '69 Malibu.

Yeah.....I agree!

The 110 with thumdstuds, pocket clips and all the "new" trends, well it just wouldn't be the calssic that it is anymore.

Get a Buck Odyssey or one of those, leave the 110 the traditional fodling hunter that it is.

I am with Jaguar and Confederate also. Whatever Buck does, don't mordenize it too much. Imagine a Colt 1911 with a laser pointer attached to it.. :barf:

The 110 up to now is why I am having this come back with it lately, for that classic look and design. I won't mind if it's gonna be lighter, but for the look, just please keep it old-school. And pls don't G-10 the slabs too. It's gotta be wood or other natural material. Don't worry about the thumb-stud also. I CAN open my 110 with one hand with ease now just by flipping out the handle. Guess I am not the only one who is an 110 fan due to the "out-dated" look of it. :D

I think that sometimes, a classic/old design is a principle, it doesn't have to catch up with the "trend", what matters is the good quality, other stuff we can ignore them. :)

I saw the prototype at the Bass Pro fall classic this year. I think the best way to describe the modernization is to say that the overall lines have NOT changed. Only a few asthetic things like a sleaker angled bolsters. That is all I could really discern in the brief time that I had to hold it. Overall it is still the same classic design that we have all come to know and love.

I would like to see a slimmer handled version of the 110 but keep everything else the same. Then again, if it ain't broke...

There was a mid frame version made for a while. It was about 5/8 inch thick, I think that handle variation is my favorite.

Whew... now THAT'S a relieve. :) Thanks for the info, Brian. :D

hummmm... the 110 has gone through several {read Many} changes in its time that is why collecting it is so much fun and such a chalange!!!! so why the fuss on changing "thunder lisord"? and 'it is what it is' ? humm i like the 180 not the 560 there is a difrence! i like the onehanded relise verson, i like the diffrent steel being avabile and i can not afford the collectors versons tho i do dream and watch... so what the fuss joe and ca are going to do what the need to or want to in the new location. and i hope they have as little control over what types of shop verations come out as in the past! long as the quality is high! man the custom shop guys realy played havic with what was sposed to be made any way and you guys loved it!!! why fuss now?

Can we expect its launch, say, at the first half of next year? Any pics, even a little bit more info for teaser? I need to see some more "trailers" for this.....! Please? :)
