hello there buck-aholics!!

just received my first 110, and only my second buck ever! cabela's alaskan guide model, which i have been eyeing for some time. got a gift card for christmas, so finally took the plunge.

the 119 was my first ever fixed blade. a gift from my dad when i was about 12 i think, about 25 years ago.

first impressions:

-great fit/finish. the brass is all sparkly!! :D
--except for middle pin, which sticks out more than the others. no big deal.
-shaving sharp out of the box.
-solid lockup.
-nice ergos, feels great in the hand.
-much heavier than expected, feels rock solid!

That's a great 110 to start with. It's become one of my top two 110s for carry.

The rocker pin sticks out a little more on almost all my Bucks. That's normal.

When the brass dulls over time (and it will), a little Brasso will have it gleaming again in a couple of minutes.

Congratulations on a great knife and a classic to boot. It also comes with one of the best 110 sheaths that Buck has put out.

They are pretty and my two (one's in stag) are just scary sharp right out of the box.
Congrats on a great buy!

Yep, the Alaskan Guide 110 is a fantastic Buck without a doubt.
I predict that you're going to really enjoy that knife.

Here's mine with the AG logo removed....

+1. The need to "police the brass" (:D) is also my one peeve with the 110.

A very old 110 was one of my first knives when I was just a tad. You know, just after the last of the wooly mammoths was put down in Siberia ... :)

I'd like to get a look at that sheath, but no Cabelas' near me.

Morimotom, Welcome.Glad your happy w/ your new Buck purchase.Use it and enjoy it.
The picture on your AVATAR caught my attention.I've been there when soliders folded one of those and gave it to me. DM

A Buck 119 and a Buck 110===.
PURE AMERICANA:thumbup:

I like your style.....

 just dug the 119 out of a drawer. hadn't even seen it in quite some time.

the tip is bent. ill need to fix that, and it is in desperate need of a sharpening.
