Received a 112 yesterday from the Bay.
For the price, it's a killer knife.
Some obversations.
- Fit and finish are very good, minor gap between the spring and back spacer on one side
- The wood handles are much nicer than I expected
- The blade came seriously sharp as expected from Buck (but as with all new knives, I touched it up on my Spyderco
Tri-Angle sharpener; now it's truly scary sharp, probably the sharpest knife I've ever used.)
- Lock up is solid with no wiggle either direction
- Opening action is acceptable, but a little rough; probably needs a good flushing and use to smoothen it up
- Curiously, in the closed position, the blade is off centered and there is a bit of wiggle; very strange but since this will be a user, and it's
tight in the locked position, I don't really mind
- Feel in the hand is good, but not like the 110 with the longer handle; the 112 could use another 1/2" or so in the handle to make it perfect
- I also wish the entire knife were a little slimmer; it would carry better in the pocket, and be more comfy for my smallish hands.

Overall, a great knife.

Congrats on a nice knife. The wiggle in the closed position seems to be the norm on the 112. I have 3, and they all will wiggle while closed. All lock up tight, and all are centered nicely.

Lenny, the 112 is the most beautiful production knife, in my opinion. I do find the Ecolite 112 pocket carries better and feels a bit nicer in the hand due to the really well thought out scalloping. But, it's not as pretty as the 112.

My 110 and 112 both wiggle a bit in the closed position, but as with your 112 my knives are tight when locked open. I wouldn't worry about it. I really like my 112 as a pocket carry knife. I do agree a slimmed down version, like the ones sitflyer has done, would make it even better for pocket carry.

A great choice..A 500's blade is too wide, a 110 to long and heavy to be "Perfect".
