My first 119 was the 119BR - too pretty to use. That mirrored my 192 AG experience - so I had to, like the 192 AG, buy a more plain 'user'. Okay, I got the wood handled 192... but a plain-Jane 119 was 'needed'.
Well, the cheap guy in me wanted the 119 boxed for a common discount department store - on closeout for $30. They will keep the peg mounted blister pack version, at $33.64, but bye-bye to the boxed one kept behind the counter - supposedly, too easily palmed! Both variants had the nylon sheath. Another store had the boxed version - with leather sheath for $37.63. I opted for the last one, despite my love of bargains, but partially due to the advice of others here. They had to carry it to the customer service checkout - that pilfering worry componded by the dangerous nature of the knife, I was told. Odd, that latter rationale, as this is a concealed carry state, begging the 'What's in YOUR pocket?' question.
They had '06 and '07 made versions - I opted for the '07. The black leather sheath was assembled in Mexico, and really is well made. I suppose the nylon sheath might just be better for weather, but leather is quite functional - and, since there is no brass to turn green, the leather should remain nice. I just forgot how heavily made the knife is - that is a substantial blade - thicker on the spine than I remembered - and it is scarey sharp - along the entire blade's length. I have to wonder how it - and the basic 110 - can be mass-marketed so inexpensively - they are true bargains. This one will see some camping use.
