Just received my first 14 today from tkc w/ their g10 scales. I'm loving the look and feel of it with the scales. This is my second set of scales from Dale and they're quality for sure. Haven't had a chance to carve up some feather sticks or anything with the knife yet, just put a strop to it and slapped on the scales. I don't have any plans to strip or mod this one or my other most recent purchase (BK2). I caught the super strip-grind-patina-mod bug with my first 5 Beckers and now I'm really enjoying just giving them a keen edge and maybe switching up handle scales. If with further use I feel I can benefit from some kind of mod then I won't hesitate but for now I'm living by the ol' "If it aint broke, dont fix it" motto.

Looks awesome. Now I'm wishing I would have ordered the scales with my purchase the other day

Yes sir, those tkc scales are a world apart when it comes to fit, finish, and overall appearance....

When i first saw the G10 at tkc i thought they were a bit too spendy for my taste but i took the plunge and have been very pleasantly surprised. Absolutely perfect fit and finish, quality g10, quality hardware, tools to install...the whole kit and kaboodle. If your on the fence on scales from tkc dont hesitate, theyre fantastic and feel like theyll last forever. btw that izula^^ is sweet looking. I cant wait til that folder is released.

Those look fantastic!! Did you have to drill out the 3/16" pin holes in the handle of your BK2 to accept a threaded sleeve for your scale hardware? I guess what I'm asking is: How did you set up the hardware to secure your scales? Any pics? Again- they are both beautiful!

No drilling, they're completely plug-n-play. Along with the scales and directions, two allen wrenches to put the new hardware on is even included. Dale did a great job with these. If you check out the knife conn website you can see some pics of install i believe.

This is going to sound cheesy, but where do y'all order the Becker knives (not the ka-Bar ones)?

Thanks a lot for the information. Out of curiosity, which Becker model is your favorite (I know it varies due to task but which aesthetically captures you)?

I'm a small knife kinda' guy. Perhaps my ancestors used big azz blades when they were hijacking military naval vessels back in the day, and maybe a few were cutting sugar cane in Cuba with 36" machetes when they ship wrecked and became permanently stranded, but I'm more into what I can carry discretely. The biggest knife I own is an ESEE 3. I do have a machete, but it's been hanging in the garage for a few years now, especially since I have enough gas powered tools to take the place of a machete.

I've been putting off buying the 14 because I already have an 11. But seeing the G10 handles from TKC pushed me over the edge. I wanted a set of handles that would look good with either a black blade or a stripped blade. So I have a 14 and a set of neon green and black handles on order. Can't wait till they get here.
