....and guys....I'm actually torn on accepting this.

I can see what was mentioned, but it qualifies as "not cosmetically perfect." That's all. E: And that, barely. Seriously, it's on par with my Thamar Samsher.

Personally, when I hit the PP I do the Friend/Family thing to eat the costs. It's not much, but I'm a humble grasscutter, and HI is literally what I spend my "ME" money on. This is unacceptable, guys. Am I three sheets to the wind? Admittedly, yes. But c'mon. This has been eating at me. These master-smiths are turning out products consistent with an automated processing plant.

What I would really like, is if there's something we can get here, cheaper in the states, and can bulk ship to them. Hope Yangdu can give some guidance.

Guys, we are spoiled. So friggin' spoiled. Our cost vs experience on the product here, is ridiculously low.

Not a lot to it, guys. Do what you can. Eat the PP costs, throw a couple extra dollars Auntie's way, whatever. We are incurring a major karma debt here.

I'd like to do something big. New tools? Grinders? Etc. Hope somebody has ideas. Just something to show our appreciation.

Just wanted to get it off my chest, because without the Kamis, our addiction would die a very sudden and painful death.

Sending extra money when needed helps a lot, like when a Kami or Sarki needs medical services, upcoming festivals or Pujas, or natural disasters, etc...

Also, a lot of buyers round off the purchase prices to the nearest 10 dollars, or whatever.

Yup, extra money is best as they can then utilize it where they need it most such as the things Cul mentions.

Yangdu appreciates the convenience of Pay Pal and feels the fees are reasonable for that convenience.
So she actually prefers not to cheat them out of that fee. Admittedly I've done the same though a few times.

I'm on the poor side of the tracks myself so I really appreciate the super quality for exceptionally good prices. Even then I can't buy all I'd like to but once in awhile I get lucky.

Your idea is sound, don't get me wrong, it's come up before. Be nice to send the kami's something even non work related, something fun, whatever that might be.

I'm scheming myself... got to find that pot of gold so I can send it all to the Khukuri Shed!
Auntie has super high standards and excellent taste as you've observed.
We're so lucky!
I can't get over the st(d)eals I've gotten myself.
Teeny bit of the tip broke of my GS, but it's a 20" hand-forged work of art and destruction...and the Lachhu Pacthar and Kumar Kobra are literally perfect.

I have sent parcels of tools to the kamis trying to help them out and I don't think the guys got most of them. Postage to ship something across the pond is a killer, too, and sometimes more than what the article sent cost. So send Mrs. Martino a few bucks now and then and know the boys will get the most bang from your buck.

+1 ^^ I Also do the round up when I purchase thing. Lots of little ways to help and sometimes the bigger options wind up backfiring. I remember a discussion about generators a while back when someone wanted to get some to send over. Sometimes we think of ideas that would be good BUT we don't always know the "environmental" issues there. It turned out if we had sent generators it probably would have cause a LOT of issues "politically" Always best to work through Auntie for things we want to do there.

That's really cool - sending over tools..
I'm always struck by how wonderful this company is. we get the best knives on the planet and we get to help some amazing people who are outstanding multi-generational craftsmen.
outstanding! UB really did an amazing job setting this whole thing up.
