ny good friend rich neyman stopped by this morning to pickup a dagger from me--He asked me if i wanted to see the new 184--i said heck yes-so he let me take these few pictures of it and said i could post them here.just kinda of a teaser and i cant say anymore...i was not sure of it at 1st after just hearing about it and not actually seeing the new 184 because of the original 184 notoriety--the original 184 is badazz and now to say so is the new 184--it is badazz..now i want one and cant wait for it to be released in the future.... This knife sure has been slow in coming. Makael Makael posted a thread on this knife 2-1/2 years ago.
Given that I did not think it was ever gonna be a real product.
The pictures are a bit coy and can't tell if the guard is still part of the design.

Craig is it still kinda top secret status, so ya couldn't take a full pic of it?

looks interesting, wondering about the unique guard setup if still there......thanks for posting for us......

I don’t see the connection with the original 184. I hope they give its own name, so we can enjoy it on its own merit
Agree. Two entirely different critters.
Too bad they won't bring back the original, and stick a 3 spring 3 full size blades new production 307 in the hollow handle.

How big is the dive knife market, anyway? Seems like they'd sell more if it was intended for use on land. More folks in the boonies and sticks than under the waves.

Good looking knife; but, I don’t see the connection with the original 184. I hope they give its own name, so we can enjoy it on its own merit. If it were just a little longer we could call it the Buck Smachete.

You will This knife has a direct attachment correlation with the original can’t show you pictures yet but time will show

so only with partial serrated then.....also what steel 420hc or some other more stainless steel like a lc200n, ya allowed to tell us yet?

I think it's swell they're potentially going to put some tactical knives back on the market. It's a "meaty" dagger for sure - I don't see much "Buckmaster" going around with that blade profile, but maybe that's a good thing. I can get that it's 420HC if it's going underwater... I'd prefer 5160 if I were in the market for such a thing, but I am a pedestrian, after all. :p And in all truth, my experience with S30V has left me with mixed feelings - it's hard and therefore really sharp, but it's also brittle and loosing your sharpness is easy if you touch the edge to something you shouldn't ("glinting" the edge and what-all). My experience with Buck's 420 is that it's easy to maintain, and its cost doesn't make you nervous about using it. And a knife is pretty much useless if you don't use it!

Can't see too much of the scales, but if they did something like that on the GCK they'd have a winner. I hope they didn't put some sort of slot at the base of the blade, because that's the worst place to put a slot.

I could easily rant about suggestions for Buck in the tactical department, but perhaps such a thing should be left to a thread of its own! :D
