I fanally magaged to snag a deal of the day. I just gave my 18" AK to a good friend of mine & needed a replacement. Lo & behold there is this monster. Just got it yesterday, probably even before Yangdu had my check. What a nice woman, I swear if anyone ever burns her on a deal like this I will be at thier doorstep at 2am.

Anyway, the new knife & new Kami look good. Metalwork is great, the handle needs a little help. There is about a 1/16 inch gap on the top. I was thinking of pulling them for a rehandle but it's not loose, just a small gap & they look good.

What would be a good filler that will hold up. Afraid wood putty will dry, crack & fall right out.

Epoxy mixed with a little sawdust is good. So is the thicker gap filling CA glue (superglue). If you use superglue, drip in some glue, give it a couple of strokes with sandpaper. The dust helps fill the crack. Repeat.

Then give the rest of the handle a light sanding and put some Danish Oil or mineral oil on there. Perty. What wood?

Good news, thank you

Yup, still wondering weather the 20"was the way to go. This is a big knife. ...... I like it.

I'm actually waiting on a custom 22" CAK, can't wait. I was testing my 15 versus a battle mistress this weekend and it was a close call on chopping prowess, the 22" should put it to rest!

Start doing curls w/ whatever arm you plan to use now. I chopped the hell out of an old stump to test this thing & my arm is sore today.
