Safe queen...Well, kind'a. I only carry a little Buck Metro on a keychain... and sometimes use a big Buck 110 look-a-like made by Camillus (but Craftsman branded) folder for bigger work. They really do all I need them to do. The knife collecting thing is just a hobby that does double duty as decoration (they being placed in display cases) in my living room. So hidden in a safe it will not be, but instead displayed for myself and others to admire old world craftsmanship They keep the mind healthy, as any hobby should
Thanks, guys... Though I like my other Toothpick, a Tidioute, this one I like much more. It definitely is high on the coolness factor! Well, that, and it comes from that old school firm, Camillus, which sadly is no more :-(
Thanks, Meako! One display.. the one that I installed the mini oak shelves into, is the one on the wall. The other (the one with the Hawkbill) is laid flat on an end table. Both have glass hinged tops. They can both be wall mounted, being set up for either or.... but I did not want to have to install those little shelves again.. so, flat on an end table was good enough ;-) Besides, I figured I should mix it up with not only the types and makes of American folding knives, but also how I display them.... A few here, a few there... some like this, and maybe some like that Thanks again for the kudos, sir!
I like that original Remington knife too, thanks for sharing! I gotta say, I like how Camillus found a way to really put it out with their own twist... The real 7mm Mauser cartridge case head and primer, and that cool etching on the pile side of the blade... just as nostalgic looking as one can get! Besides, I like it saying Camillus because it is not only a name brand, but the actual makers of the knife (which with it being out of business, again adds to the nolstalgic thing)
