I just received my long awaited 470-1 Emissary, a perfect EDC! This is my James Bond Knife: Sexy good looking, very high quality, highly concealable, and deadly (heaven forbid). Kind of a luxury but I just had to have it! Got it out of the box and noticed a slight side to side blade play. I played with it for a day, opened it a couple hundred times. It will not deploy all the way to the lock if you open it about half way manually and release the blade. That is ok. I thought the deployment was perhaps a little slow compared to some videos I have watched. Manually moving the blade in and out felt a little grainy.

I LOOSENED the pivot screw about 1/8 - 1/4 of a turn and hit it with some Blue Lube. Feels less grainy, deploys faster and the blade play is COMPLETELY gone! I never thought that by loosening the pivot it would get rid of the play but it did. Guess it was a combination of the oil and loosening it, but what a bonus!

man I like this knife. It is little so now I have hit the streets and drum up some quick sharpening business so I can go snag a 477-1!!

Thanks for an awesome product Benchmade!

I just got a emissary 477-1, had it like two weeks, I really love it. I have been babying it.. Always clipped to inside of poket and only used it a couple times. The finish is starting to come off in two or three edges. Yikes, now I'm worried. Anyone else have this problem? Need help, thx

That's the aqua one right? That's anodized, should be pretty durable. The only problems I have had with anodized 6061 T6 aluminum finishes is dropping.
