New 501

I got a 501 with rosewood scales today. It was in the bargain cave at Cabelas because of "Package Damage." It will take turns with my Buck 55 as my "non-scary knife that I might actually take out of my pocket at work." The other knife, a Buck Vantage, never comes out at work or anywhere that it might look scary.

Like all my Buck knives I expect it will outlast me. I do not spend enough time in situations that need knives. But the 501 has already cut a rope, a peach, a sausage and some packing tape.

i dont consider any knife a scary looking knife. only thing scary is some people.

Congrats! A 501 is a step up from a 055 IMO.

I'm a high school shop teacher un a very urban area. I carry a open sheathed 110 or 112 on my belt everyday. No one has ever questioned it.
