New 535 and 537

The new Bailout looks a proper bit of kit, It looks like they listened to all negative comments about the original and moved forward.

Agreed. Benchmade is getting a lot of flack because they changed the steel to M4 and heat treated it higher than the 3v but to me it shows that they're listening.

Just got the new Bailout in today. Slapped my favorite clip on there and this is damn near perfection. Nice overall size with a very slicey thin blade stock coming to a subtle taper towards the tip. Tantos are not my favorite grind to sharpen but I can easily see this being my new EDC for a while.

***Took these pics in crappy light so I added a filter just to improve contrast***

Tantos aren't my thing either but I have one on the way. M4 is a win and the overall design seems to be executed well.

That’s sweet! Does it have full liners or the typical mini ones? Just curious

Yeah I'm pretty picky about my Benchmades but this thing feels great. Usually go for thicker handles in general but I'm getting a great grip on the Bailout. Love the subtle texturing and the matte finish on the scales - really does add some traction. I just gotta get rid of the carbide tip on the backspacer. Just a flush sitting backspacer would be nice.

Mini liners... The aluminum scales are pretty stiff though. There may be the slightest/almost imperceptible flex to it. I think a backspacer instead of a standoff would help that though.

I am gonna break this down later and see if I can fit some broader PB washers around the pivot. Broader meaning an increased overall diameter washer.

Just looking at it from the outside, there appears to be a decent amount of space between the current small washers and the axis lock.
