After eagerly waiting all week it came in the mail today :D

First impression is it's bigger than I anticipated (which surprised me since well, I had looked at the exact specs several times) I also now understand why people like ESEE handles so much (previously only owned an Izula).

I was also kind of surprised at the number, 0067. Am I misunderstanding the numbering system or is that quite low? (my initial thought was wondering if the green sheath model is not very popular so this has been sitting in a storage room for a while)

and since any new knife thread needs pics:

It seems as though most of the "First ESEE" threads are about 6's. Mine was. Haha. But nice 6, man. You'll never regret it.

The only thing better than a brand new ESEE, is a used ESEE. have fun and congratulations.

Yea I absolutely can't wait to take it camping.

I might just go into some woods by my house this weekend and find something to do with it, practice building a shelter or something.

Anyone have an answer on the serial number being low? I was interested in how ESEE numbers their knives so I did a search, found several threads on it, and thought I understood, but apparently I was wrong. Unless this was a knife made quite some time ago and hung around in a warehouse for a long time...

Great pic...

Ive been trying to decide on which ESEE to get next. But seeing the 6 next to the Izula in this pic, I think Ive made up my mind.

thanks!

it might be that when ESEE switched from RAT cutlery to ESEE they started numbering all over(at 0000). my only guess
and drex...VLN ;)

I know my 6 has another number under the handle scales, which I believe is the heat treat date? I imagine the serial numbers are reset for each heat treat session, but that's just a guess...

I got my 6 about a month ago, and it is #0180, and I had been wondering the same thing.
