Any info on any limited edition , dealer exclusive or Gold Class 710's on the way ?

The blue/black G10 on the KW exclusive 710 just doesn't do it for me. I love my black G10/D2 standard 710's but I'm looking for something a little different in the world of the 710 (aside from just dif scales).

I'm surprised BM never made an S30V variant (unless I missed it).

Nope, you are right, no S30V.
However, you could try to find one of the other versions, there are quite a few....ATS34, M2, M4, the first LE M390 (with a rounded spine, very nice) or the current M390 version.
I have all of them except for the D2 and the ATS34.

A custom set of scales would be the icing on the cake though...........................I'm just sayin'. ;)

Not at all. In regard to the KW M390 version , I'm saying the blue and black G10 turns me off. Otherwise I'd scoop that one up.

OK thx. The black/blue g10 handle is actually not so bad, especially if you've had lots of knives with pure black g10 handles. One thing I don't like about the 710-1401 is the poor edge grinding - it is very uneven (granted it is very sharp). Same is true with the 810-1401 that I have.

I agree. I have to say I've not been attracted to a single one of the black and blue Knifeworks exclusives. BM should look through Keyman's albums for some good ideas...

Yes , that Keyman is a master of his craft.

A couple years back there was a gold class 710 with a Damascus blade and C-Tek handle scales w/ cf I believe. That was a really good looking 710. But I don't think I could ever use such a pretty blade.

Agreed. The 710, 810, and 940 exclusives would all be something I'd buy if they weren't blue/black combo.

I do think the recent 55x-1 Grips were well done though. It's simple and still looks good. Just don't care for all the designs and stuff.

Man the wood scales look great..... Future project for my 710.

Years ago there was a 710 available with cf scales and polished bolster. Which blade steel did that have ? Was that a gold class ?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I actually own one, it's got titanium bolsters and CF handles, it's a Damasteel blade. I've almost been able to bring myself to carry it, but can't quite do it. Brad.

I feel like I've missed the boat with some of these limited run 710's from the past. I can only hope BM will continue to release more specialized 710's periodically.

If you watch the limited ones come up now and then for sale. But they usually aren't cheap. And yes Keyman makes great scales. Here is my 710 M390 with rounded spine and regrind
