I added a new/old 834UH to the pile today, have to say I'm pretty happy with, its great little knife. Typical good fit and finish, good snap to the blades. I also looked at a 207SW Switch-it(I think thats what it was called) to see if it was anything I wanted to buy. This is the knife that has the clip that you can switch from the right to left hand side. The knife itself is ok, locked up nice and felt ok in the hand, but the retail was 50$. A little to much for a FRN handled knife with 440 or 420 steel, even if it is a Schrade. Oh well, its the only game in town and if I want to play, I got to pay. I'll probably let that one sit and get the 285UH next.

A question about the 207SW- Does anyone know when production of this model started and finished?

I see The SW7 and SW7S (Serrated) first advertised in 1999 for $49.95. The non serrated SW7 seems to have been discontinued after 2001. You can buy these on eBay for $21.95 plus shipping right now.

Thanks Codger, I figured if I wanted one of these that I'd go to ebay. 21.95 is a little more in line as a price for the knife by my estimate, although I'd have gone as high as 30$ for it.

Sorry I got the model number wrong, I'm terrible with remembering numbers. I got a list of phone numbers in my wallet, some I've been using for years, because I never know when I'm not going to be able to remember one. A pretty bad case of CRS.

Wrong? You worry about getting a number wrong? I'll show you what "WRONG" is!

Now THAT is just plain wrong!

Codger:D
Edited to add picture of correct XT2B for those not familiar with the pattern:

That is awesome Codger...

Someone surely must have started on the Drown Royal a wee bit before happy hour.

Surely someone boxed that after the fact. I wouldn't think even the janitor would pull that one from the sweepings bin. It could have been worse though.

Codger,
I think you have fine examples of Taylor's efforts to assemble knives from parts they found at Schrade after they bought out all the leftovers! :D :D :D

Codger,

Your second example looks eerily like a shark... :)
I don't remember Schrade making that pattern in great numbers, and it does have a "foreign" look to it.

You may be spending too much time in the pool, with fouled air. I think it's time you came out of the water and did a ramble about folding knives.

Lloyd Bridges dive knife!!!

Or is this his knife? #6604273644 Looks like it could use a bit of restoration work. Maybe it was found with the CSS Hunley.

Sand sharks Bill?
