So today I finally bought a Browning Shock N Awe Tomahawk from a local vendor when it went on sale and dropped dramatically in price. I've seen this hawk on Amazon a lot during my long searches and always loved the look of it and how it was described as being one solid piece of steel rather than a head held onto a haft with screws or whatnot. So I order it online, go pick it up all excited like I'm sure some of you enthusiasts can surely relate to. Get the box out to the car and open it up and I had to take a minute to absorb what I was seeing. This thing looked like a toy at first. I'm a big guy so a hawk that barely tops ''10 is pretty unimpressive to me. At least at first it was. The more I held it and swung it around and got the feel of it the more I really began to feel like it was a tool a man could rely on. It may be small but it's rock solid and feels fucking unbreakable. Just wanted to get opinions of fellas and ladies out there who may have this and some reassurance that this little badass is as reliable as it feels. So what do you guys think? I just joined this forum so if this was long winded or whatever I apologize. Oh, I also realized after buying this one that Browning has come out with a new, larger version of this hawk that's ''14. That's still relatively small compared to my Cold Steel Trench Hawk for instance but if it's as solid as the smaller one I'm probably going to end up getting one. So basically, I like the feel of the Shock N Awe I just wish it was bigger. Talk to me Warriors.

Welcome :)
I think a lot of the guys around here are the old school wood and steel kinda guys. I know I am.
Interesting looking hawk though if your'e into that sort of thing.
Im personally not a fan of "spike" hawks as I have no real use for the spike end, so prefer a hammer poll.
Post some pictures.. everyone always likes axe pictures

Im not really into the tactical type stuff myself they're usually pretty poorly made but this one seems to be fairly solid.
The only thing i'd worry about is the handle scales coming loose but that's an easy fix and it would look pretty cool with some nice stabilized burl scales of some sort.
Im guessing the edge could use some work, They usually have pretty poor geometry.
I would consider pulling the bevel back to thin out the edge if you want it to bite deeper.
It's a nice little toy but not something id buy.

When I do figure it out I will definitely post some though. I've got a lot of cool stuff and nobody in my life is into weapons like I am so I'm happy to show them off.

Sounds like you have come to the right place then :)
I sometimes need to hide my purchases from my fiance so at times need to avoid showing them off in real life to avoid getting caught by the misses. lol
That leaves this place to show them off

yeah, welcome. not many of us like hawks but we can appreciate a good cut when we see one, if you wanna impress'm, show them how it cuts
