I just ordered a BK-9, I already had a 7 and a 14, I also ordered some Izula scales for my 14. I felt I needed the king to round it off. What is your favourite thing about your BK9?

Here's my current Beckers.

Congrats on the 9! My favorite thing so far is its ability to keep pace with some of my hatchets and I am pretty handy with an axe if I say so myself. Being that this is my first knife if this size really (sans the woodsman's pal that I have mixed feelings about), I can only get more skilled with it as I get used to it.

I can't wait for it to get here! I think my 7 will have to give up its micarta pants to the king when he arrives.

You can put ESEE Izula micarta scales on a BK14?

I did not know that.

I think I know what my first Becker of 2013 will be now...

they require a bit of modification to make them fit, but it's been done many times. I love my 14, you will not be disappointed with one.

Heres a nice example I borrowed from another thread, this one is Goose_52's

I already have a BK-11 I'm very fond of. But instead of another one I'd like the 14 instead for more diversity.

What needs to be modified on those izula scales?

I'm pretty sure you just have to do a bit of sanding on the piece that fills the cutout in the handle as the bk14 has a slightly smaller cutout than the Izula.

Yup. Or just slice a small bit off with a razor blade.

I believe you can also just tighten the screws down really hard and it will snap it in. The difference between the two is millimeters at best

I got the micarta for my bk14 in the mail today. I just ended up using a small file to take a bit off the perimeter of the insert piece, took less than 5 minutes. I love the feel of these, and makes me like my bk14 even more.
