To date, all 4 Fiddlebacks I have had, have been convex. Last year, I sold off one of my last custom scandi bushcraft knives. (The handle just wasn't a good fit for me) I have been dying to get one of Andy's bushcraft knives in a scandi grind. Yes, the Bushfinger is a bushcraft knife, but I wanted something more 'traditional', a Arête or Terrasaur would have been perfect.

Another member here contacted me that he had a Terrassaur he could part with. (He shall remain anonymous ;) ) A short transaction later, she arrived today.

I added a lanyard, some backup paracord to the sheath, and made a whitetail tip antler fitesteel. I really like this package and can't wait to use it. From my understanding, this design is from Joe Flowers and is somewhat influenced by the Skookum. That combo, made by Mr Roy, well, you can't go wrong. I'm really excited about this one. It's a keeper for me fore sure. When I got it in my hands I was reminded how much I like the scandi grind.

Schmittie. I've been thinking the same thing. I think I've got a scandi Arete in my future. That natural canvas on your Terrasaur looks sharp on top of the orange.

Ah, Arête huh? Good choice!! :)

Btw, I'm gonna have to borrow the fire tongs idea. That was brilliant!

Good to see you got your scandi schmittie! Nice looking Terrasaur. Good work on the firesteel and sheath.

I think I know someone with a scandi Arete, but I'm pretty sure he's not parting with it anytime soon. ;)

Hi schmittie,

Wonderful report and photos! :) She is a looker and she did some fine work feathering those sticks on your command! Thank you for sharing.

I forgot how much I like that handle combo. I haven't done much 'orange in the middle' style handlemaking for quite a while. I still have some too.

Nice pics Schmittie. I love seeing them get used. Thats my favorite thing.

That's a shame!

Lol! Apparently some of the other customers were not a fan of the bright orange color. Hence the white g10 spacer that you see a little more.

Everybody is different I suppose. It seems you and I like the orange! Keep your eyes open. You'll snag what you are looking for sooner or later.

Not to hijack the thread, but if you're looking for a bushcraft blade, you might want to put the KE Bushie on your list to check out as well. Design input from the iconic Kevin Estella with Andy's usual magical quality.

That Terrasaur is beautiful; love the setup.

Nice score! A close friend of mine has one the the first Fiddleback Terrasaurs, and I like the way it handles...but I think I'd prefer it in convex :) Andy's scandis are awesome don't get me wrong, I have one here and had another, I just prefer convex edges for multi-role knives.
