What can I say, the traditonals have some real good dudes who hang out around here and Rolf, BF user Lycosa for those who don't know, is definitely one of them. Today I received a padded envelope in the mail from him and inside contained a new addition to my expansive and ever growing sodbuster collection, an Otter-Messer Large Sodbuster. This wasn't part of a trade or giveaway, just because he knows I like soddies. What can I say other than wow and thanks! This is German made with a carbon blade & bubinga handles. This is a big meaty knife and feels great in the hand. It can handle most of the chores you threw its way, from edc to garden/yard and even hunting/outdoors task. I already own two Otter soddies, the small and Medium, and now this large version rounds out the family:D I own a few other Otter knives as well and they make a fine knife, if you ever have the chance I highly recommend giving them a shot! Anyway, a big shout out to Rolf, you the man bro:thumbup: Here are some pics, it's the big boy in all the shots.

Good stuff Rolf  Wow, nice Sodbusters, Why has Uncle Andi not shown them to us?! ;) Another  for Otter :)

Very cool stuff! Good on you Rolf:thumbup:
Thanks for sharing Trev:thumbup:

BTW, do you have a Contento Soddie yet?

Thanks guys,

I believe that Andi did have a thread some time ago about the Otters, his was one of the threads that I learned about them from if I recall correctly.

Duane, I don't believe I've even heard of that brand much less have one. When I just googled them it seems they are a Solingen made soddie, must be good!:D You have pics of one?

This is what I like to see - generosity. Congrats to the new owner, and much respect to Lycosa.

My pleasure, Trevor.
Thank you Gentlemen.
Thank you Andi. Andi understands.

Rolf is one of the good guys.. just look out for his "other side" :D lol jk... nice gesture man. Keepin' it real!

Very nice Trevor! Didn't know they made them in three sizes. Love the generosity here. Gives me a warm feeling to know there's a place in the world with generosity like this.

Looks like a real workhorse. Very thoughtful. I've seen the Otter-Messers a time or two, but never thought about getting one. They look nice

Yes... indeed - I do ;)

Nice gesture R-D, Trevor congratz to complete your Otter Hippekniep Family :D They are nicely made working horses in general.

Trevor: Hubertus makes a Soddie/Hippekniep with a lockback. JFYI ;)

Some time ago I made a thread about the Otter Hippekniep. I compared them to the Case Soddie Jr...

Good stuff Andi, you are The Otter Herder! :)

Very cool! and generous.

LOVE the handle material! Need to keep an eye out for it in the future.

Thanks guys!

Andy, I'll have to check that Hubertus soddie out:)

Also, I'm going to guess that you might have assisted Rolf in securing that lovely Otter he gave to me, if so thanks bro:thumbup: You're another one of the good dudes around here. My daughter still talks about the nice man from Germany who gave her the red swiss army knife, her first knife! Pretty soon she'll be old enough to use it:)

Bemo, how's that Herder treating you? That's another fine German soddie as well.

Doing well thanks for asking! I'm afraid that it's hardly gotten more than loose-thread duty though. The cherry wood covers are so nice I don't want to get it grubby! I think my next soddie will be the micarta Queen thanks to you!

Thanks guys!

The Hubertus Hippekniep is a nice looking knife. I wanted to order it for myself some time ago ... but I didn´t do it. Maybe you´ll be able to get in the US...

Oh, what Rolf has and done and I have eventually done, Rolf can easily give you some more advices :D :p
About the Vic I sent you - I´m looking forward hearing how your daughter is doing with the knife. And maybe a pic the new-owners-hands ;)

Great knives, passed between great guys... Well done Andi my friend, and Trev-thats a nice trio you have there now - awesome!
