Ive just been looking through the threads regarding the classic Ka-Bar 1217 model and forum member PocketKnifeJimmy showed what looked like a standard model Ontario Knife Company leather spacer Ka Bar style knife (OKC / P4 ) model . It had a brass guard and pommel with the addition of some coloured spacers at each end . To my eye it looked aesthetically nicer than the standard Ka Bar 1217 and got me thinking why Ka Bar dont make a standard model with these fittings as I am sure they would be a good seller .
