So I've been doing some buying and trading recently and got my hands on a few new knives.

I sold/traded my hollow-ground Manix duo so I could make drawer space to purchase my new Gen 2 Manix 2 duo with FFG blades.

I never got the earlier sprint runs, but regardless, I always loved the Manix and the only part I ever wished was different was the blade (I know, I know, I sound like an echo of most the people on here :p )
So far they are everything I was expecting them to be. I just wish they would've kept the original Manix pricetag. I think I got my first hollow-ground Manix for under $70 new and shipped.
But regardless, they are worth every penny.

Also, I traded my old DLC manix and Swick 3 that I never used for a Domino, which I have been dying for in my collection for some time. It is unbelievable! Smoothest flipper I own. Even more-so then my Southard!

I also traded an old beat up ZT blade for a Sage 1. I've been avoiding the Sage 1 for some time because I didn't think I'd like it much. Boy, was I wrong! This think feels superb. The fit and finish are unparalleled, and the action is one of the smoothest I've ever felt. I cannot stress how great the Sage 1 is. Colored me impressed. Idk how I went so long without one.

So anyhow, here are some pics of my new additions with some friends:

Pardon the little excess oil on the satin Manix, I didn't get done wiping them down. I was antsy to take pics :o

Now my biggest problem is not knowing which one to pick up and play with most :D

Very nice! How do you like the Domino compared to the Manix? Is it really worth twice the price? Oh and I love your Mitsubishi patterned cloth in the 3rd pic :]

I was reluctant to get one due to the price, but the trade presented itself so I pounced. I'd say it's worth picking up. I'm a big fan of CTS-XHP, and the flipper is ultra smooth. But it's hard to say if I prefer it. It's different. The Manix is still one of my all time favs. The Manix is beefier, grippier, and more comfortable for me in the hand. But the Domino does carry nicer.

I very much prefer the looks of the FFG Manix2 to the hollow ground version and I have one of each, but I think the hollow ground blade is stronger, especially the tip.

It's amazing what a simple grind change does to the overall aesthetic of the knife, isn't it? I agree, the HG probably does have the inherent strength advantage, however, I vastly prefer the FFG.
My whole thought process is if you're utilizing a knife in such a way that you are outgunned with your FFG then maybe you're either abusing the blade, or need a different tool lol. But in terms of pure slicing capability, no comparison.

Cool. I thought I'd prefer the FFG Manix2 but when I got it I had to compare it to the para 2 and suddenly it didn't look as good. So I'll stick with the hollow ground Manix2!
