The new Demo model is awesome. I am really impressed. I bought it to beat up, but I think now it will stay for show.

The Seki - Japan Tsunami I just got is in decent shape. The edge and handle are perfect, the finish is a little marred from the stupid kydex sheath.

The Seki - Japan Pentagon is another nice looking one I just got. The edge, point and handle are perfect. Again, just marks from the crappy kydex sheath.

And last but not least and I can't believe I paid so little for it, the Tech 1. This knife is so beautiful The only flaw is that the guard needs some polishing, that's it. Thank god the sheath is leather and not kydex.

Oh, did I forget to mention: I HATE KYDEX!!! It has ruined so many classic knives. So far, several classic SOG's I have gotten a hold of have blade blemishes on what otherwise would be box new knives because of the abrasive kydex sheaths. DAMN YOU KYDEX!! :)

Congrats on getting those SOG's!! Used to have a Tech I (Sold it last year to go back to school), Have the Tsunami and Pentagon. Would love to get the new Demo. Cool!!

Opps sorry Havoc it was not u .. i think it was another member who waas trying to buy a tech 2!! Anyways great collection!! I love thevintage sogs.. ashame sog wont open a special door for us vintage guys... I got another Tigershark SK5 satin blade coming any day now.. I am looking for the NITE TECH .. Yeah i know good luck!!
 
Thanks everyone. If you are looking for the new demo, I had read somewhere that they are in limited production. That may not be true and just more hype from sellers trying to get a higher price. I know when I bought this one from Amazon, it said it was the last one. Now Amazon shows a 1-2 month delay if you try and buy it. Note, this is direct through Amazon, they have other sellers listed that have them in stock. My regular knife guy has one back-ordered for me which is why I went through Amazon just in case. If he comes through, I will have two.

The old Pentagons are nice. I have a SEKI mini version I bought a long time ago that never got taken out. I had figured the larger was more of the same and never bothered to get one. I got one a few weeks ago for the hell of it and was blown away by how great it felt in the hand. Even though the blade is stained and I had to repair the tip (see my other thread) it was good enough to get a second. It feels like an old school dagger but with a Japanese guard and balance. Just plain awesome.

I paid like $130 for the Tech 1. No box, just a sheath, but I call that a badass deal. I bought the Tsunami from the same guy just to give him more money. I paid $250 for both w/shipping by the end of the deal. You can't beat that.

I think I am going to focus now on just finding a Government Recon, Tech 2, mint Government (my other two are not mint), and a straight edge Tigershark. If any other classic falls into my lap for a good price, I will jump on it no matter what, but I think I am going to focus on those four.
 
WOW! 130$ U KICKED A$$!! Ipaid 240 for mine with the older EDWA nylon sheath no box(same knife).. Ebay has had a few TECH II.. Wait .. actualy someone is selling a TECH II right now bladeuser BOSS.. Its a beauty with BOX.. Search SOG and send him a email.. He wants to sell all 4 BNIB vitage sogs... I have have 3 Tigersharks SK5's "satin blades" 2 with LEATHER SMCA sheath and 1 with old EDWA nylon sheath that I have bought through out the years.. If u are interested PM .. The Government RECON will be tough to find.. I just got one after 1 year of looking. Its MINT BABY with leather sheath-very rare .. I will post a pic..
 
Havoc, Ihope u dont mind me posting on your thread... There is not allot of vintage SOG nuts out there so when I find a cool tread like this i got nuts.. I JUST BOUGHT MY SOG TECH 1 a few days ago off feebay.. I wish i would have gotten it for 130 . I may have overpaid but had to have it;o)

That one looks nice Dax, I think I saw that auction running. That dude has several SOGs up or had up in the last few weeks. He asks a lot, but some of it looks pretty good.

Speaking of Recons, one appeared on ebay for like $60 starting, but with a 7 day run. In a day it got to $100 and the knife looked brand new!! Before I bid, it disappeared. I was furious and sent a message to the seller to find out what happened. He ended the auction at $100. I sent him another message and said "too bad for both of us, I would have bid two to three times more". I hope it made him feel bad cause that was just plain stupid to do.

I have 6 auctions up right now for a bunch of RC parts. Several people kept trying to offer me money and end the auction. Its hard to say if I will make more right now letting them end, but I want to me fair to everyone. That's not cool to end the auction and sell to someone not even bidding or end the auction because you are not getting enough. Its called an auction, let it run or don't run it at all.

And no, I don't care how much you post on my threads. I like the conversation!! Locally, I am alone in my quest for more classic SOGs.

I saw BOSS1's trade post. I have nothing to trade him, I keep all my knives anyway. I will wait around and see if he frees up the Tech2 and allows a cash offer.
 
Havoc, I feel your pain.. I have been on ebay over 10 years and I have been on both sides of the fence.. YES the SOG TECH I was purchased from a knifedealer i know personally... He is actually the guy I bought my TECH II.. He will NEVER end a auction UNLESS there are NO BIDS if he has bids he will not end an auction... Its not cool to end a auction with BIDS, though EBAY ALLOWS you to end auction EARLY and the person first out on the BIDS wins.. Definatly not fair but some people need the money..

I GOT MANY HORROR STORIES FROM EBAY BEING SCREWED BOTH WAYS!! Right now i am in a battle with a al mar warrior.. long story

I agree with you 100%, the Tech I is just awesome. Stunningly perfect lines. Same for the Tech II.

I have a Government Recon, Tech 2, and a straight edge Tigershark ..... but no mint Government. But I gotta keep 'em in my collection, sorry.

Keep looking, be patient, you'll find 'em.
