Well I've come across what I consider to be two very good deals lately.
The first is a Bear MGC medium stockman with stag scales that I got for $25.00. Impressive snap on this knife but the main blade would hit the spring on closing. The grinds were the worst I've seen on any recent knife. Uneven with high and low spots in the edge. At least they are consistent, every blade was like this. Fit and finish isn't great but the stag helps make up for it a bit. I don't plan on buying others from this manufacturer.
The second is a Buck mini trapper I got for $10.00. Not thrilled about Chinese Buck knives but I am fairly impressed with this one. The opening was rough when new but as it wears in it has become rather nice. The springs aren't flush when closed but perfect open. Fit of the wood slabs could be better but it is a darn nice knife for the money. Should make for a nice EDC.
