Dennis, she is a beauty. I own three of Alan's knives and would have been like a duck on a June bug if the blade was closer to 3.5". That knife is a work of art, like it so much that I have been speaking with Alan about a big brother to it.
Thanks for the comments ..... although Alan is the one really deserving of the thanks!! Everything about this piece drew me to it. That's a little strange, because with Mammoth bark .... I am normally drawn to color combinations in the bark like the ones in my CRK Mnandi:
However here ..... everything just seemed to work so well together ... from scales, to liners, to bolsters, to the clip, and to the blade. Everything just gives it an heirloom kind of appearance.
I definitely want many more of Alan's knives. Really wanted to get his latest rattlesnake motif framelock ..... but had already spent most of my monthly knife money on a custom by another great Hill Country knife maker, coincidentally named (though spelled differently) Allen!!
