I just received this Alan Davis fixed blade earlier this week and thought I'd post some pix. I should say here that the good pix, the first two, are Alan's. The other three are mine. The OAL is 6 1/8" with a 2 7/8" blade and a 2 1/2" cutting edge. The handle is 3 1/4" and is a perfect 4-finger fit for my hand. The steel is old saw steel, possibly L6 according to Alan, that he re-heated and has shaped into knife blades. This one should be an excellent slicer with that thin, sharp blade. I've gotten so that I prefer a small FB for EDC carry. I have some hand issues that make manipulating a folder problematic sometimes. Doesn't affect my grip, just my dexterity.

The sheath is really unique. It's set up for a RH crossdraw from the left side and the bottom of the belt loop is left unattached. You can put the sheath on and adjust it w/o having to remove your belt. The loop is pretty thick and stiff and there's a leather block attached to the bottom so it hooks on your belt instead of pulling off accidentally. The whole package is extremely light and thin... perfect for an EDC FB.

The other knife is a custom in S30V by Harry from Twin Blades in Statesboro, GA. I've had it for several years and wanted a smaller FB in stag to complement the larger one. It's 8 3/4 OAL with a 4 1/2" blade and a 4" cutting edge.

Very nice man, love Alan's work. Prices are a bit low imho. His work is very good.

I've been admiring his work for some time, waiting for one to catch my eye or 'talk' to me. I almost jumped at that one of yours, or one very similar, but I was sitting on the fence and slow on the draw.

This one is based on the 5 1/2" model that he listed in FB F/S recently. That's just a bit small for me so I asked him to make me a 6-6 1/4" version of that style. He had a blade ready to go so it didn't take long to trim it down and finish it off.
