Looking on Amazon and seen this the other day. Haven't seen a new Alox Bantam for sale in a while. I did notice that it is shipping from Germany. Victorinox must have specific production lines for different countries. Germany being one they ship New Alox Bantams. At $26.72 seams a little steep for a single layer SAK but this maybe the standard price.

They're right around the same price on the 'bay. While I like the alox SAK, these smaller single layered models are just too thin for me. They would make a good office or church knife when in slacks though I think. Weighs next to nothing.

They are not back in the USA, but have always been available in other countries. I have ordered a few things from that seller. They have some other alox of interest.

Rich at Central Valley Wholesale in California has them at $25 shipped. I've purchased from him a few times with no issues at all. He indicates they're retired. Dunno.

Not sure if he's still a member here or not, so if I'm in error posting the name, moderator please correct.

I was in the market to buy one here a year ago and had a hard time locating one. I guess I did not look hard enough then.

They are not retired. Just not sold in the USA anymore.

Am I missing something on the pic, or is there not a keychain/lanyard attachment point on the Alox Bantam?

I was able to snag a pair of them just recently from a seller on the big auction site - new in the box, price was reasonable at around $22 each. Carrying one of them today, in fact. So flat and light that it rests comfortably at the bottom of a T-shirt pocket, which is where I have it right now.

And no, they do not have a keychain/lanyard attachment point.

Guess I can save my money or see about having my regular one modded.

Current production Bantams are Cellidor with keyring and Alox without keyring (including the nice colored Alox Bantams you can order from one of Denmark's knife dealers).

Victorinox has made Alox Bantams with keyring, like this one:

Thanks to UnknownVT for the photograph and a very interesting thread.

Sooner or later, everything turns up on the big auction site.

I had no problem finding one a few months back. I had to wait a couple of weeks for it arrive, but I found it with little trouble.

It's my "dress knife" and does a great job. Super sharp, non threatening appearance, nice looking, and the combo tool while limited in function has still come in handy.

It's far too thin to be comfortable for extended use or for anything more involved than opening a package, a letter, or cutting a loose string. It will never be my normal carry.
