I was looking at TNK last night, he just listed a bunch of new Sebbies, some that ive never seen before, including a classic with mammoth ivory, inlaid with gold wire! And a premium walnut inlaid with gold and diamonds and one of the nicest GGG knives ive seen, heres a picture, but go check his site out, awesome stuff. And me with no $$$ this month for knives...:(

I´ve seen it yesterday there.

Please allow one question:

Is it possible to cut or work with this knive, or will the blade be scratched at it´s first job?

regards

I think it would hold up about as well as any other knife.
It still steel it's just REALLY pretty!

I have to agree w/Manji. The blade almost takes away from the handle's beauty. I'd like to see those scales paired with a more traditional blade. Not trying to start anything here, just expressing an opinion. :) :)

There are a lot of very interesting knives on the page of www.truenorthknives.com.

I´m thinking about an order, but I know nothing about this dealer.

Can anyone here tell me about his own experience?

regards

I just spoke to the owner on the phone a couple of hours ago, he semed real nice. There has been previous positive feedback in this forum concerning True North Knives.

THX DaveH

I mailed to Neil Ostroff from truenorthknives half a hour ago.

And he already replied after 15 minutes with an absolutly fantastic occasion.

I think he´s the right dealer to buy at.

regards

later....

The knife must be produced first! Neil will reserve it for me.

If it has arrived at me I´ll post a picture here.

regards

I have now placed 2 orders with Neil and am very happy with his service, but more importantly, he's just a genuinely nice guy to deal with and that goes a long way with me. Some dealers give you the impression that you're wasting their valuable time, Neil will chat with you about knives, and that makes me want to buy from him. Plus, he is easily reachable, even on weekends. Good guy, great knives, fast shipping.

So what did you buy ????

It had taken a long time, because Mr. Reeve had to build this knife especially for me.

Here it is:

Thanks to Chris Reeve for building this outstanding knife and Neil Ostroff for the arrangements.

Hello FivePointOhh

Here are some Specs:

It is a regular small woodinlay sebenza.

The blade is Devin Thomas´ raindrop damascus.

Woodinlays are California Buckeye Burl.

The knife ist made with a decorated backspacer, which unfortunately is not to see on the pic.

I know the fountain pens from Grayson Tighe.
They look fantastic. But the prices are fantastic, too. ;-)

I´m using the Pelican M805-series:

I have to chime in here about True Noth Knives and Neil as well. I have bought both my CR knives from him (See attached photos) and both times he has been a pleasure to do business with, as mentioned above very very friendly and straight foreword. Packages shipped out when he said they would and arrived promptly (Fedex overnight). Would highly reccomend him for future purchases.
