Got in the new S110V Military, something I have been waiting for along time now.

Finally something to take the place of my tried and true old S30V Military, been through a lot over the years.

Like the new upgrades so far. :)

It has a lot of life left. I'd be happy to take it from you. Lol, I mean, just to help you out.

Wasn't trying to show the wear. LOL

Guess my point was....a quality knife lasts a long time even being used, as long as its used as a knife.

I just got a para in s110v and done some limited cutting with the factory edge and so far im impressed. I expect as i sharpen it a few times ill be more impressed getting to the good steel.

Love the blurples!!!! Hey Ankerson you do any Cut test with the new Para2 M4?

I hope you work on commission for Spyderco, Jim! ;-)
Because these pics and your cutting test results finally persuaded me to order a Military in S110V.

Just in the 13 months that I've owned and used my Spyderco M390, C-36 Military model I've probably used it at least as much as any other EDC in my arsenal of Spyderco folders in my main EDC rotation. I put main EDC folders through a lot of work and I can't think of any model that I've used as much in one year as I have with my M390 Military model. And I'm including my Burgundy ZDP-189 Caly Jr. which I used extensively for years>> I probably had more miles on it than I did any other Spyderco folder I've owned in the past few years.

The C-36 Military was one model that I sort of thought of as being just a bit too big for an EDC folder but since I've really used my M390 and XHP Miltary models in my EDC rotation a lot more in the past two years I'm probably going to designate my C-36 Military models for most of my primary cutting chores from now on.

The endurance of the C-36 Military model is astounding. The ease of maintenance and the ease of blade sharpening ( regardless of which blade steel) is just ideal for demanding cutting jobs. The C-36 is just a great and well designed hard use folder and one of their better outdoor folders as well.

Now for a companion blade which most of the time I use a mid-sized Spyderco Hawkbill and most of the time it's either the HARPY or full SE TASMAN model. Which is kind of funny in a way because as much as I like my Spyderhawk models I find the smaller Hawkbill blades to be very efficient for pull cutting and other cutting chores.

My Military S30V has been carried and used for over 10 years and the lock up is no farther along than Ankerson's!!!

Dependability is one of my main criteria of why I like certain Spyderco models over others. Of the half dozen C-36 Military models I've owned and used in recent times I've not had any of them give me any significant problems at all. Those that I've owned and used with the Sprint Run blade steels have been especially dependable and performed at a higher level than many of the other Spyders I've owned over the years.

There is a thread over at Spyderco.com about the premium Japanese blade steels. It would be cool in my opinion to do at least one C-36 Military model in one of the top notch Japanese blade steels if not even a couple of them. I don't think there's a better Spyderco folder to try in several different exotic blade steels than the C-36 Military model. And we just have to at some point have a Sprint Run of the C-36 Military in Spyderedge too IMO.

sorry if this was asked elsewhere...

why did spyderco go to a 'pin' for the blade stop instead of a screw? advantages? disadvantages?

I have to get one of those midnight blue Millies! I love that color and have not used that steel.
