New Army knife

called the Army Survival Egress Knife (ASEK). The civilian version will cost less than $ 50.00, not sure what the army will pay for it's version. Only 2 of 8 companies were able to manufactor the knife to uncle sugars specs, not sure if both or only one of the two remaining companies will manufactor this knife. No company names are given in the article.
The knife is meant for use by US Army aircrew, takes the place of the older version from WW II.

I did a search and the Knife is the Aviation Survival Egress Knife.
Designed for the Pilot in mind. EickHorn of Germany has one ready to go. I don't know who will get the final contract. The total package comes with a few other items such as an awl, mini survival knife and sharpener.
