New arrival, but I may not be able to keep it.

So, before today, these were the Beckers that I owned - the beloved BK2 and BK14.

I had some points on my credit card, so I redeemed them and purchased...

The BK16 to complement my existing Beckers. Damn, this thing is just right - ergonomics, price, balance, weight, utility. Though I haven't abused/loved it yet, this size just feels right. I'd like to thank DerekH for talking this one up so much, because I'm really glad I picked it up, and he's absolutely right...

I don't want to say that the 2 and the 14 are going to get less use now, but the 16 is going to be my first choice if I had to choose only one knife (I do, however, have a Ka-Bar Kukri and a Bahco Laplander in my pack, so those bases are covered).

The reason why I may not be able to keep this one is that my fiance loves it, but she has a 7 on the way, and she doesn't even know it. She wanted something nice to ride on her hip, so I bought the 7 for her, but now she's in love with my 16. If she takes it, I'm buying another 16 and keeping the 7.

I'm sure some of you have had a favorite Becker become "2nd favorite" after another; if so, which one became the new favorite, and what was the old favorite?

Each new Becker becomes my "new" favorite........... I think that's the early stages of Beckermania. Let's see, I started with the 9, then an 11, then a 5, and a 16, then a 15, got a 24 on the way..... Dammit! Why don't I have more hands?

Be happy your fiance shares some of your interests, and if she takes the 16, you get to buy more Beckers!

For about a year all I had was a BK2 and it rode on my hip most days. After searching for some custom grips for it on google I stumbled upon the BK&T section of BF and promptly ordered a 14. The 14 & 2 combo lasted me another 6 months until I ordered a 16 & 9 then a 5 & 15 all within 2 months. Now after having the whole currently produced Becker family (minus the BK3) I tend to use my BK15 the most just because it lives in my kitchen. But I carry my 24 or 14 on my hip often. I think if I had to choose one BK&T knife it would be the 16 or 9. I thought the perfect combo for a while was the 14/9 but I perfer the 16 over 14 now. What is crazy is I used my BK2 daily for about a year and I hardly ever use it anymore. To big and thick for my general uses. I need to bust out my BK2 more often....

her is my beloved BK2 that went everywhere with me for a LONG time:

Yep, 16 & 9 are an awesome combo. But my 14/24 are always on my hip or in my pocket. My 15 & 5 get very little time outside the kitchen but both would handle most if not all of my camp chores I'm sure. Got love BK&T!!!

I am one of those freaks that prefers the clip point I think. I love my 16 no doubt. However more often than not the 17 is the one I grab. It might be cause of the accessories though. I have a Kelly custom pocket sheath that also keeps my Microstream handy.

If I was a hunter, I'd definitely go for the 17 as it seems to be better suited for piercing through hide, but it looks cool either way.

I have the knife K9 did for a passaround, it's a ffg 16 that he clip pointed. It's a GREAT combination of the two.

9 is probably my favorite overall. 16, 10, & 5 are high up as well. I probably wont sell my FFG 2, or my 11 CSM. Havent tried the 14. Still want a 6 & RBK. Aside from that, I am happy. Didnt like the 4, and feel no need for a 7. 16 is a great blade.
