For some reason the picture will only load the top 1/3 so all I can see is the butt end.....but it looks like Lurquin. And some nice koa besides!

Hmm - I'm seeing the whole image - is it not loading for others? John you are correct on the wood - I won't hold you to a maker guess based on a partial view of the handle. ;)

Very nice Roger. I'm certain I've missed by a mile but the hamon and leather look like the work of Stuart Branson.

It initially only loaded part way for me as well but now it’s fine. Great looking knife, no doubt about it!

I’ve been trying but can’t nail down a guess, lol.

The forum is overall moving like molasses in winter for me at the moment - maybe that's the issue with the image. The full pic should load eventually.

Good guesses so far gents, but neither Sam Lurquin nor Stuart Branson made this knife. Though if both those gents wanted to send me a hunter I'd be quite delighted!

This maker is currently a JS - one small clue from the pic.

John got it. It's my first knife from Ben Breda and I have to say very well executed indeed. Very good handle ergonomics and the edge is sharp to the point where it scares me a little. Which is exactly where it should be. The hamon is very striking - really adds some visual drama to this compact piece. Blade steel is W2, and as John guessed above, handle material is some beautiful Koa.

The handle design and construction method threw me off just a little bit but once I could see the whole pic, it had Ben's blade shape, hamon and blade finish pretty clear enough. And the material choices fit Ben's work.

I'm a huge fan of Ben AND his knives. This one is a beauty. Congrats Roger!

Congrats John, what was the prize!?

Roger, very fine knife in all respects, thanks for showing it.

I was going to say Ben, got beaten to the punch , great score from a great maker and a hell of a nice guy to boot.
Cheers

Yep. I was gonna say Ben to! Hard to mistake the great flow, ergonomics and sweet hamon...good score, Roger. Now you should try one of his fighters. They are dreamy
