Well as the title states I received a new arrival today. I recently came to the conclusion that as soon as I went back to work (next week) that I'd be buying a new SMF DGG Digi. With that figured out I thought I'd take the opportunity to work up a trade with my present (customized/pimped) SMF and had to choose something to even the trade up. So I rummaged through the safe and decided upon to send my William Henry with the SMF. So what did I trade for? Well here it is, figure I’d get good and bad reactions on this one. Enjoy!

Ahh, okies... Not my cup of tea, but if you love it that is what is important. Congrats!

Yeah Carrillo's work is not for everyone but that's ok. Thanks for the response, they're all welcome!

its an interesting design but its deffinately purpose built...not too great for edc or general tasks i.m.o. judging by the name i'm guessing that giant single serration thing is for stripping wires?

Yeah the crazy angles and super thick profile would make for a tough EDC for sure!! As far as the blade cutout goes, from what I've read, it's for exactly that. As well as rope, belts, or other such objects.

I don't know that I'd trade an SMF for it, but it's a great-looking piece of work.
We do need these guys who go for the creative instead of the bandwagon.

I thought about it and knew I'd be getting a new SMF soon enough. Another thing was that the SMF I had was pimped and the warranty was void so I thought I'd sacrifice it for a unique piece.

I can understand that. My first thought is, find the money to buy it. You can always sell an unused knife later. But since you were going for a different SMF, the trade makes sense.

I have been surprised to find that Carillo's knives are more comfortable to hold than to look at. :)

The only thing that matters is that YOU like it. I appreciate its uniqueness and the thing looks like it could punch through a brick wall! I'm just glad I don't have to sharpen it ;)

Looks like it was built to chop down car doors . Looks pretty cool imo. Congrats!

That thing makes my Benchmade Snodys look like a bunch of snot-nosed punks!

I give it: Four thumbs up!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Seriously cool piece. When those Carillos come up for sale, if it's your cuppa tea, jump. I know I would. I'd have no use for it and that would suit me just fine too.

Best,

Heekma

Thanks for all the comments, as I said before, they're all welcome. I like sharing new stuff with people that can appreciate it even if it's not something they would buy or normally like. Just wanted to give you a shot of the lock up, first time I've seen it used like this.

I've always thought those Airkats looked cool. They're pretty much the exact opposite of what I'm into these days, but I can definitely appreciate the aesthetic and the workmanship. I really liked his fixed blades, with the crazy sheaths they came with, but I don't think he makes those any more.

Those things ain't cheap! I don't know how fancy a William Henry you sent, so it's hard to say if that and a SMF was a decent trade or not. I would much rather have that Airkat than a SMF, FWIW. William Henrys are nice though.

It's a big heavy knife that looks cool....I think you just bought the Cummins turbo diesel Ram pickup of the folder world! Lol congrats!

It was an older WM T12BT with the standard CF handles, blue liners, gold accents, and glossy DLC blade coating. All in all I think I done very well on the trade. I afraid resale on my SMF was going to be kinda low since it had been customized and therefore the warranty void.

Thanks for the compliments, it's a tank for sure!!!
