Today the postman delivered 2 new Beckers; the BK16 and BK3. Some quick dirty shots of them along with my BK2 and ZT561 just size comparisons.

The BK3 came with a poor edge. Nothing that cant be fixed with a little contact with my Japanese whetstones.

As usual I love the ergos of Becker handles. The BK16 handles great in my palm. I cant wait to use them next week when I head off to the jungles.

:D

Nice collection you got there man. Whats the stone you have pictured? The manufacturer?

Thanks bsmith_shoot. I used #1000 and #3000 Naniwa Superstones here. They a step lower then the Choseras, basically the same but with less dense abrasives.

Sarawak, Borneo........Those blades are a loooooong way from their birthplace !!!!!!!...........I am so glad that they have found a good home...........Thank you, for buying Becker and thank you for your post and pics......Those are some nicely finished out edges , by the way.......And to echo KaBarcamper.....What is it that you have going on in Borneo??.....Can we help??.......

All Best......

Thanks everyone. @Kabarcamper and Uncle Ethan, I conduct training for communities on disaster response and preparation with focus on South East Asia for the International Disaster Response Network. At the same time I am involved in developing family based tropical aquarium fish/plants business involving villagers in Borneo for export to the international market.

The BK3 makes a great tool for our Rapid Assesment Team (RAT) in disaster response. I love the design and how the Becker handles fits my hands. Thank you for making your knives strong and affordable.

The BK2 by the banks on a riverine expedition in Sarawak earlier this year

The BK2 chops very well for such a short knife.

Cheers!

You should give chosera stones a try. I have a 240 grit Naniwa stone that doesnt cut as good as my 400 grit chosera stone. they are a bit pricey though but put some of the sharpest edges I've ever had on my knives. Nice knives by the way.

What you are doing over there is amazing... Good stuff!

Thank you sir!

Thank you Kabarcamper. I try to come into the forum whenever I have access to the decent internet service. :)

I will certainly give the Choseras a try when funds are available. Havent heard anything bad about them at all but seriously the Superstones aint that bad. Do you use Nagura stones as well?
