New Article on Guardian Shepherd Site

Thank you for that valuable information. It's very scary to think that defending yourself can bring about so many consequences.

That's a good article. I am in Canada so our laws are a little different, but I'd say they are closest to the Duty to Retreat law.

Thank you very much for posting this Ernie; I listened to your voice as I was reading, I really liked the way you picked the statement "You may use the minimum level of force that you reasonably believe is necessary to safely resolve the situation" apart; the point you make about having a plan is something I, like many others, never think about. I agree, it is better to walk away, if possible, than to play macho man and get into a fight with anyone; mostly because once I take out the Roadhouse it will be to inflict some damage.
I was kidnapped twice in Mexico City when I was younger, once a guy from the Policia Judicial pulled out a .45 and pointed it at my face, about a foot away from my eyes, I had no choice but to do what he said and got in the car with them; it is a long story but luckily the other guys that were with me called someone with influence and they eventually let me go, and nothing happened, but I tell you, I was scared. I was also glad I didn't have a knife with me.
We take too much for granted in this country but I am glad that we live under the rule of law, and if necessary we have the opportunity to defend ourselves and those we love.
Great article, thanks a lot! Your service to the community is greatly appreciated.
