Last week while in an antique shop, I found an excellent condition out of production, Case 303 throwing knife for only ten bucks. I bought it, like it. I have searched our back posts here, but can't find anything about it how good a thrower this is. Now I collect and use knives, but have never, ever thrown one. Was this Case a good thrower? Or was it in it's time? If I do want to try tossing this one (it has no great collector value), I was thinking of hanging an old blanket, over a pile of something soft, and throwing the knife at that. Is there a better target/backstop to make (I want one that won't harm the knife, too much!

My first visit to this forum... glad I found it. Reading through old posts I did learn a lot.

Welcome. It tends to get a little slow around here at times. The 303 is a bit smaller than we like to throw , but anything to get you started is good. The smaller knives tend to frustrate new throwers when they don't get consistant results. Most of us tournament types throw knives that are 12-14 inch knives. Let us know how you make out. We have your back;)

Unfortunately, most guys here don't like to talk much, including me. Anyway, this is my 100th BF post and I want it to be in this forum!
Thank you guys, I learned a lot from you.
