Just received my new aviator today. I cant wait to put it through the paces. Also found out that their shop is about 5 miles from my house. Called them up and set up a tour for next Monday.
 
Oh man you lucky dog. I would love to go on a tour of Chris Reeve's and see his Operation. The closest I am getting is the DVD I am watching of his knives. :(
 
Well the tour went well. I didn't realize it was so close to my house. (only about 10 min away). It was nice to see all the different steps involved. I wish they had more "in stock" knives for sale. They are busy putting them out the door to their customers. I would have bought one from them today if they had what I wanted. I ended up finding what I wanted on the internet. After looking at what they had on display I decided on a mountaineer II. Should be here by the end of the week. Now my son wants to go on the tour so he can see everything.
 
Congrats. I bought a Mountaineer II at a gunshow yesterday and I love it so far. Comfortable, holds a good edge, and easy to sharpen. The coating seems very durable too.
 
When I went through the tour I asked about refinishing, they said that if it gets scratched up they can refinish it very easily. Also when it gets dull they will sharpen it for free. I can sharpen pretty well, but they are so close that I will just bring it in to them. Hope to put both of them through the paces in a couple of weeks.
