Yep it's been posted before. Still worth the watch though. One thing I just noticed is there's a knot in the middle of the handle.

Grain is going the "Wrong" way as well. Just goes to show ya eh? I see some old handles made by old loggers and the grain is exactly the wrong way. must have worked for him.

overall, grain is more preference then anything.

I've heard of old-timers who actually prefer the grain going "the wrong way" because the handles are less likely to warp. I guess they didn't have problems with breakage of those "weak" handles, even with the thinner handles used back then.
