Pardon my ignorance on these. 'Them's shore purdy fer lookin at' but what has been done to ensure a durable working edge and yet retain a non-tempered eye. Essentially what I'm asking is are these entirely decorative or are they actual users?

As I recall from earlier threads, cegga is (or was) a blacksmith at Hults Bruks who does a bunch of projects on his own. I believe that the "damascus" pattern was achieved by etching, after the axe head was forged and polished, because he's done some previous ones that way.

Thanks all ;-).
Absolute there is a tools to use otherwise I will not have made it ;-)
The steel are RWL 34 and PMC 27 in this tree

Cegga makes axes that fits the 3F's (Form, Fit and Function) and then the aesthetics.

That's my beloved Cegga British Red.

wooooow. real nice. of course they are users, what else!

i'd love to have a small wood working axe, like a small beard axe for my grandson to use.

Cegga...beautiful Axes! I'm glad to hear they're not only pretty, but can do a days work, too.

I have a couple of Axes from a fellow countrymen of yours, Svante Djarv and Hans Karlsson. I own Svante's large Viking Axe and the Little Viking Axe. I also have a Hans Karlsson 6 cm Adze (and a few Gouges). All were purchased for carving. I'm also looking forward to receiving my John Neeman Tools 'Robin Wood Edition' Carving Axe. It should arrive any day. I'm very excited about that Axe. I guess I'm an official 'Axe-aholic'!

Med vänliga hälsningar,

SJ
