I have pics of my new bag set up. Basically EVERYTHING is tethered to the bag so nothing falls out. I have also cured in 1 layer of mink oil, going for 2 more layers.
Total weight with full 1 litre water bottle, from LightMyFire, is 11 pounds, not too bad.

The list is a follows:

RC-6
LightMyFire UCO Candle Lantern
Buck Fillet Knife
Buck Folding Saw
Real Tree Poncho
KJV Cambridge Bible
LightMyFire Humid Proof Salt & Pepper Shaker
LightMyFire Army Fire Steel and Striker
LightMyFire 3 Bees Wax Candles
Buck light weight hatchet
RAT Basic Survival Kit

Will be adding in a "primitive fire bag"
a tin with Flint & Steel with char cloth from Vern's Flint & Steel on ebay
a fire piston and fire piston companion from ebprimitives on ebay
a complete bow drill from stickfires on ebay

Won't be able to fit anything else. Need to get a backpack now for a BOB.

The bag looks like something a mountain man would carry. Then you open it & see pretty modern gear. I dig that you include a bible in bag. Is this an EDC bag?

It is to a point, I take it in the car and when I go out scouting or walking I take it with my staff. I made a few modifications since I bought it about a year ago. I added more heavy leather straps on the outside and inside to be able to tether things. I also added the outside "knot" that keeps the bag shut. It was an open beaver tail, as you said, like a mountain man would carry. I also adjusted the strap, as it was too long, I am only 5'4".
Over all it is nice and the weight is not too bad.

Later I hope to get a backpack and move stuff over, still going to keep this bag as an EDC I will carry everywhere, going to keep my daytimer in this and a few other things.
Things that would serve as a small survival bag if I could not get to my larger backpack kit.

Thanks TexasTony, coming from a "Kit professional" that is quite the compliment.
I am still learning, trying new skills and new things to find out what works best for me and trying to pass information to others to help as they learn too.

Again, that is why I am so happy to be a part of this forum, it is like a family, learning and sharing. Actually better then some families, LOL. :)

Nice, I keep a small New testament in my every day bag but I'd rather have the whole thing. I'm also having a hard time with the KJV. Time to look for a small NIV.

nice kit - what are the dimensions on the bag, I have a small possibles bag and a larger haversack isn't a bad idea - plus will give me something to do over the holidays. (I'll go with a sno-seal finish, though, "harder" finish and cures faster then pure mink oil)

You might want to look at TheWayofTheMaster, they have a NKJV that is easy to read.
They have a pocket version as well, N.T. with Psalms and Proverbs.

I like this bible because of the middle page references in it. I have three main bibles I read from, this KJV, the Complete Jewish Bible which is in regular speaking English and a New King James Evidence Bible from The Way of The Master, which is the bible they gave me when I graduated from their program.

Bag expands to about 6 inches.
It is roughly 16 inches long and 11.5 inches deep.

The leather is not very thick, not like that nice veg. tan leather custom made sheaths are made of.

I bought this last year on ebay, haven't seen the person list these again since, he sold 5 bags,

I bought one and made the modifications mentioned above.

A Bible in a survival kit/BOB is an awesome idea! Thanks Pastor! I'm a NKJV kind of guy myself..

Thanks PastorMarko. I didn't think to put a New Testament in my daypack. I have one in my Tacoma but not my day pack.

cool setup. would like to see more of that from rp members. their survival packs with all the contents, or a list of what you carry everyday, roadtrips, camping/hunting overniter survival packs etc....
