I'm not great at opening with thumb holes. So maybe I'm not the best person to test that feature LOL. I've been using the wave hook as a thumb stud and it works okay.
It's perfectly normal. I'm glad you like the knife! It's pure physics. When you wave the knife out of your pocket your applying a lot more kinetic energy to that blade movement. Naturally the lock is going to move over farther compared to just opening it up by hand. It's nothing to worry about.
I sampled a Bandito and a Gentleman Jim today. The thumbhole works very well, and the grip of the EB is very comfortable. My only nitpick is the "blade efficiency", which is better with the GJ.
