My wife made me promise to take her to the new Bass Pro store near Birmingham (Leeds) - it opened yesterday. We lucked into a good parking space - 8 spaces from the front door! We were snookered by a Toyota Tundra drive-it for a $15 gift card just outside the door (Hey, I am cheap!). It took 10 minutes - and my wife got one, too. Mine went for the BP110, hers on a pair of stuffed animals. Sadly, the s/t is 10% - $67.49 for the CPM154 110, which had dissimilar scales - but was nicely finished, centered blade, great lockback, etc. Box dated 6/08. Nice burgundy sheath. The 'grey' coating seems darker than I remembered - compares favorably with the Vanguard I recently bought with CPM154. Quite sharp, too. I didn't notice the brass bolsters until I had it in my hands moments ago. The knife 'works', a la the Cabela's AG110, with the brass, even if my customs all have nickel silver bolsters. It's worth the $75.

I did look at some other Buck goodies - the $100 bone 110 - the Bowie. I left with what I wanted - and could barely afford - the BP 110. Neat knife. If you live within a decent drive from Birmingham - that Bass Pro store is interesting. Most things are cheaper elsewhere - but there is the entertainment value of the store, too. Never mind the hiking trail - you'll likely get your walking in getting to & from your vehicle - or perusing the stuff. Another different blade metal 110 - whoppee!!

My wife is a fish-nut - heard they have an aquarium (We have a 125 gallon with tropicals in the den.). Lot's of animals & fish stuffed/mounted - including a five plus foot alligator gar. Then we found their tank - with a similar sized gar inside Neat place - but quite an arduous drive up the road from the street to the store. They have a lot of overhead... and, in the store, a lot overhead. You could live in their for a while - they have a sandwich and ice cream shop, too. They even have reloading supplies and equipment... and carry black powder. Quite an assortment of knives, too. Still impressed, over twelve hours later.

Yeah, I like the BP110, too - may be the most perfect 110 I've ever purchased, operationally. Naw, the BCCI BG-42/G10 110 still has that title.

Our local Cabelia's has the same set up with the aquarium which is full of big trout and bass. You can purchase trout food to feed them and the fish put on quite a feeding frenzy. It reminds me of feeding time at the state fish hatchery. The idiots behind the counter do not know anything about Buck 110's and I made a special trip just to check them out. The next time I go through Post Falls I will make a point to hit the Cabelia store on the 9-0. The lunch counter and ice creame shop must be the in thing nowadays as these stores have them, too.
