My wife made me promise to take her to the new Bass Pro store near Birmingham (Leeds) - it opened yesterday. We lucked into a good parking space - 8 spaces from the front door! We were snookered by a Toyota Tundra drive-it for a $15 gift card just outside the door (Hey, I am cheap!). It took 10 minutes - and my wife got one, too. Mine went for the BP110, hers on a pair of stuffed animals. Sadly, the s/t is 10% - $67.49 for the CPM154 110, which had dissimilar scales - but was nicely finished, centered blade, great lockback, etc. Box dated 6/08. Nice burgundy sheath. The 'grey' coating seems darker than I remembered - compares favorably with the Vanguard I recently bought with CPM154. Quite sharp, too. I didn't notice the brass bolsters until I had it in my hands moments ago. The knife 'works', a la the Cabela's AG110, with the brass, even if my customs all have nickel silver bolsters. It's worth the $75.
I did look at some other Buck goodies - the $100 bone 110 - the Bowie. I left with what I wanted - and could barely afford - the BP 110. Neat knife. If you live within a decent drive from Birmingham - that Bass Pro store is interesting. Most things are cheaper elsewhere - but there is the entertainment value of the store, too. Never mind the hiking trail - you'll likely get your walking in getting to & from your vehicle - or perusing the stuff. Another different blade metal 110 - whoppee!!
